Dr Cliff Holloway
B.Pharm, Ph.D (Univ. Nottingham. UK)
Chief Executive Officer

Dr Cliff Holloway has over 20 years experience in the commercialisation of emerging technologies and has been instrumental in the direction and expansion of company operations and joint ventures in the US, Europe and Asia.
Following his early career in clinical research with Eli Lilly and Novartis he has since held senior and executive management positions in drug discovery platform, software technology and biopharmaceutical companies, including for Molecular Simulations (now Accelrys), Superscape and Pharmacopeia Drug Discovery Inc.
He most recently held the position of Vice President, Business Development at Arana Therapeutics (now Cephalon) with responsibility for driving the company’s commercialisation strategy through the partnering of antibody development programs and acquisition of additional assets and technologies.

 

Dr Angus Gidley-Baird
BSc (Hons) (ANU), PhD (Univ. Sydney) 
Chief Scientific Officer

Dr Angus Gidley-Baird is responsible for Biosceptre’s commercial and scientific strategy and directs the Company’s research and development program. He has substantial senior level experience in research and commercialization of research results. Angus was a Research Director and Director of three publicly listed biomedical companies. He is an author / co-author of 39 publications in refereed scientific journals and is an inventor / co-inventor of 7 patent families. He has been a full time Research Director in biotechnology companies since 1994 and has managed the Biosceptre research and development projects since October 1999.

  

Dr Julian A. Barden
BSc (Hons), PhD (Macq)
Research Director

Dr Julian Barden is a protein structure specialist. He has over 30 years experience working on protein structure analyses, molecular modelling, protein function studies and antibody design in several areas. These include the molecular mechanism of muscle contraction, actin structure and function, calcium regulating hormones, purinergic receptor structure and function and the development of cancer diagnostics and lead cancer immunotherapeutic molecules. Julian has authored 150 international papers, eight patent families and has presented over 200 papers at national and international scientific meetings.

 

Jennifer King
BSc (UWA)
Business and Operations Manager

Ms Jenny King has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years in sales, marketing and business development roles. Jenny has extensive experience in the diagnostics industry, having initially worked in laboratory management roles in both public and private pathology. She most recently worked with Roche Diagnostics Australia for 11 years prior to joining the Biosceptre team.  Jenny worked in business development and marketing with Roche before taking on the role of National Sales Manager.

 

Glenn Pilkington
MSc (Univ. Melb)
Projects Manager

Mr Glenn Pilkington spent 11 years in the USA biotech industry with Intracel Corporation and Diadexus, LLC, having moved to the US to work at Scripps Clinic, San Diego. During his time in the US, Glenn’s roles were involved with diagnostic and therapeutic antibodies for human cancers.
Prior to that Glenn spent 16 years at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Melbourne, where he established an antibody typing laboratory for human lymphoma / leukaemia, contributed to the first 5 international Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigen workshops that established the CD antigen nomenclature, and to the phenotyping and publications for Australian Leukaemia Study Group leukaemia trials. Following his return to Australia, Glenn has worked for the last 3 years as a consultant and Vice President of Protein Development at Apollo Life Sciences, developing diagnostics and therapeutic proteins.
